As an immunization manager, you have the power to protect your country's population from vaccine-preventable diseases. But your job is a difficult one, requiring you to skillfully manage and integrate each of the elements of a successful immunization program: cost-effective and dependable procurement processes, reliable funding, an effective cold chain, consistent monitoring of vaccine safety and efficacy, effective surveillance systems, productive and proactive communication with the public, and well-trained health workers.. Often, you do not have the support you need.
The International Association for Immunization Managers (IAIM) is changing that. IAIM, as the first-ever international professional Association for immunization managers, is your association. Joining IAIM will help you obtain the knowledge, skills, and leadership capabilities you need to advance your professional development and become a better immunization manager. As a member of IAIM, you will have the opportunity to:
A select number of Immunization Manager Members will be awarded a peer-to-peer exchange. Each immunization manager member receiving a peer-to-peer exchange will have the opportunity to travel to another country for one week to meet with a fellow immunization manager and learn from their experiences and successes. The peer-to-peer exchange recipient can then apply these lessons learned back in their home country to strengthen their country's immunization program. Travel and lodging expenses will be covered by the Association.
Once you become a member of IAIM, your registration for IAIM Conferences and Regional Meetings will be free. At these meetings and conferences, you will have the opportunity to attend sessions on topics relevant to your day-to-day work, ask questions from experts and peers, expand your professional network, and benefit from state-of-the-art training. A selected number of immunization managers will also have their travel expenses covered by the association.
Members of IAIM will have opportunities, both online and in-person, to connect with immunization managers in other countries to discuss experiences, challenges, and lessons learned. Peer support networks will be formed online through IAIM's Discussion Forums (hosted on this website), where immunization managers from around the world can exchange experiences and ask questions on important management-related, disease-related, and vaccine-related topics. Peer support networks will also be formed and strengthened through IAIM Conferences and Regional Meetings.
IAIM has worked to integrate and deliver the most relevant information for immunization managers in one website. To date, IAIM has negotiated access agreements with groups such as the American Public Health Association, and worked with groups such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to bring valuable content to our website for our members.
